Symptoms of a Bad Catalytic Converter

There are many ways to determine if your car has a bad catalytic converter and needs repair. Often you run into subtle issues way before your car warns you that you have a problem with your emission system. Overheating

If there is any restriction to the exhaust, your car may overheat. Your temperature gauge could indicate that your car is running hotter than normal as the gauge approaches the upper temperature range. Bad Exhaust Odor

A common symptom with a bad catalytic converter is the rotten egg smell. In this case, the converter is not removing enough sulfur from your exhaust.

Poor Gas Mileage
