s are making a comeback as the preferred .

No longer are they just for kids. Gas powered scooters are rapidly taking over as the preferred method of transportation to work and school. They are economical, can maneuver through tight spaces and with a , you can take short-cuts that an automobile can not.

Gas powered scooters are also known as which is a two-wheeled (normally) low powered vehicle. In most states its small size and low power output allow it to escape many of the licensing, insurance, and driver restrictions placed on motorcycles. However, be careful of the of moped.

a. A moped is traditionally defined as a motorized 2 wheel vehicle that is part human and part motor driven. A moped has pedals so that it can be propelled by human power. As you can see, gas powered scooters do not fit most states definition of moped.

Don’t fret though, a gas scooter used properly will not get you into any trouble in most places. If used responsibly and traffic laws are obeyed, most law enforcement won’t touch you.

were first introduced in the mid 1950’s. The first design was little more than a bicycle with an engine mounted on it, it was called a cyclemotor. The cylcemotor can still be seen on the road these days in the form of electric bikes.

One reason some people have a gas scooter is to circumvent loosing a driver’s license. Many states don’t require a driver to have an operator’s license if they are over eighteen years of age, sixteen in some states. They also don’t require insurance and registration.

Gas powered scooters have several advantage that should be noted.

a. No parking spots required. Some gas powered scooters can fold down for easy storage right in your office, or you can tie it up at the door with the bicycles right in front of the buildings door or on the sidewalk.

b. A gas powered scooter is faster than the average electric scooter. They can travel at speeds up to thirty-five miles an hour.

c. Gas powered scooters can maneuver rather well – A gas powered scooter is a great way to move through traffic. They dart in and out between cars, especially gridlocked traffic. Imagine sleeping in an extra twenty-thirty minutes. With the time you save avoiding traffic, you can afford to. how smart are you?

d. Gas scooters have very cool body styles; some gas powered scooters look more like miniature motorcycles than scooters.

e. Gas scooters save tons of money - While the cost of gassing up gas powered scooters might seem expensive compared to the low cost of running an electric scooter, the mileage they get quickly makes up for the gallon of gas they require.

f. Maintenance is a breeze– A Gas scooter is easy to maintain. With a basic grasp of tools and a decent book about mechanics most people are able to maintain their gas powered scooters in their own garage.

The best thing about a gas scooter is the freedom to literally go just about anywhere. While you ride your scooter along the trail or the beach, you can go more places than most automobiles. Hop on your new gas scooter and get ready for a new adventure. Take a minute and smell the roses or take in the sights like never before. What more could you ask for?

An uses no gas, but will use an electric charge to move about the home or the store. The electric charge is held in a battery. The scooter is plugged in as needed, for a few hours, to recharge the battery. No special are needed to charge the scooter or for continued use of the in the home.

The Electric The battery is a small piece of equipment you will charge weekly. The more you use the scooter, the more often you will be required to charge the scooter. The chargeable scooter battery is one you will find easy to understand. Most all scooters are available with a charging system that will display when the charge is full, and when the charge is low so you are never left stranded with a .

When charging the battery ‘be’ sure to charge it until the light says the charge is full. Charging the battery half way, or only partially is going to lessen the life of the battery. Avoid charging the battery that is not empty. If you must take the scooter for a short ride to use more of the battery life, so you are then left with an empty battery, or at least almost empty battery.

Another feature about the scooter battery is that when it is low, when it is empty be sure to charge it again right away. The battery that sits empty for will be difficult to charge again after sitting for a . Think about your cordless phone, you must charge it 15 hours when it is empty. The same will apply for your scooter chair if you leave it empty for a long time. It will require charging for a longer amount of time. When it is empty, recharge it, and the process will be faster.

Avoid adding or putting water on the battery, the charger or the connections for the battery. Water can easily make electric outlets surge, or worse break. You want to keep the battery and the charger moisture free for as long as you

Not too long ago, the words “auto manufacturer” meant dealing with the “Big Three” – the American manufacturing companies like General Motors, Chrysler and Ford. Everyone bought their cars and they were clearly industry leaders – powerful companies that ranked high in customer satisfaction, made quality vehicles and were the most to own. Times have definitely changed. Not only are the “Big Three” not as powerful as they once were, they have lost the loyalty of so many Americans who now look toward other manufacturers for better value and better prices, even if it means ignoring American pride and going after instead.

When I think of importing a vehicle from, say, , I’m not talking about those that are really made in the U.S.A. – cars like Toyotas, Hondas or Nissans. I mean an actual imported vehicle that comes from Japan and is shipped overseas through the efforts of an automobile exporter.

I have several reasons why I think these imported autos from Japan are better than those made here in the U.S. One big reason is the exchange rate. It’s more attractive financially to obtain a car directly from Japan, even when you include the extra fees and monies you pay for shipping and taxes. It’s simply cheaper to directly from Japan than it is to buy a similar car made in the U.S. In addition, I can afford a much nicer car if I buy straight from Asia. The price difference can be in the range of thousands.

If I am in the market for a used car, I’ll get a better deal from those shipped over from Japan. The Japanese car owners don’t rely on their vehicles on a like we do in the U.S. They use scooters, public transportation or simply walk instead of using their cars. Often, are saved for weekend trips so they aren’t like these high-mileage you’ll find here. I can buy a car from Japan that is several years’ old, pay a reasonable price and I won’t be looking at inheriting a steep mileage on the car. What’s more, you won’t find many of these models made in the United States so their rarity makes them far more special than your average “foreign car”.

When I initially thought of the idea, I didn’t think it would be worth the extra hassle and I wasn’t sure how much extra it would cost to directly import and ship a Japanese vehicle. I thought it would take forever and I didn’t know if I could trust any of the importers. Finally, I did my homework and found an exporter that I felt comfortable with and who had a decent reputation. Once I discovered it wasn’t that big of a deal, I made the leap and bought an automobile I liked. It took a while to be shipped overseas, but my efforts were rewarded with a car I truly liked.

My personal advice is to dump the usual set of cars made here in the U.S. and think about buying an import from Japan that is reasonably priced and in good condition.

A , sometimes referred to as a , a , or as a snow machine, can be defined as a land vehicle that is propelled by rubber tracks or belts, equipped with skis for steering. are meant to be driven on ice and snow, without a road or trail being necessary.

The first ever snowmobile can be traced back to 1923, when a man by the name of made modifications to a Ford Model T by replacing the undercarriage with tracks and skis. These earliest snowmobiles were used to deliver the through sleet and snow in the wintry Midwest area. The snowmobiles appearance and function has changed quite a bit over the years.

Today, there are a variety of reasons why people enjoy snowmobiles; recreation, remote travel, racing, as well as being used in rescue efforts. Snowmobiles are also made in a variety of styles, with some being produced for the single rider, with others being made for two passengers. Many riders of snowmobiles also utilize their snowmobiles to gain access to wilderness areas that are too remote to be accessed by a normal motor vehicle.

Snowmobiles have become so popular that there are now specific events centered on them! There is the Snowcross Racing Series, Snowmobile Skipping Races, as well as the Grass Drags, which are held in the absence of snow, right after Labor Day in Minnesota. While not all snowmobiles are manufactured the same, the average recreational snowmobile can reach speeds of 120 miles per hour, and the snowmobiles made for racing can reach speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour.

Not only are snowmobiles popular in the United States and Canada, Russia has their very own version of the snowmobile, which can be seen in the aerosan. Aerosan, when translated, means “aero sled.” The Russians use this propeller-powered snowmobile for delivering the mail, patrolling the , as well as for recreational purposes.

The aerosan has a very colorful past, and their use by the military can be traced back to the 1920’s. They were used in the Second World War, and were outfitted with a machine gun mount that was attached to the roof of the aerosan. During wartime, these particular snowmobiles were also used for medical evacuation in deep snow.

No matter what your reason for riding a snowmobile, you should always practice a bit of snowmobile safety. When operating, or riding as a passenger on a snowmobile, you should never be under the influence of alcohol. You should always carry a first aid kit, always wear protective headgear, monitor your speed, and never travel alone. There are also snowmobile safety courses that are available from a variety of sources, and these safety courses are always a good idea for the younger riders. Staying safe should always be the first priority when enjoying a snowmobile!

Although 4 wheeler s are some of the most dangerous vehicles known to man, people are more than ever buying for kids. Not only do these four wheelers tear up the natural habitat, but they make tremendous noise, disturbing the native wildlife while causing their terrible erosion. Back in the days, young people eroded the soil and basically wrecked things for everyone else trying to enjoy the . But worst of all, is the danger of the 4 wheelers.

Going four-wheeling in one of those big trucks is a lot safer and it’s both fun and popular to do. Nevertheless, whenever you take something off road and go through the brush and the hills, you’re going to end up with someone getting hurt. Many people go four-wheeling during or after a drinking binge. That means there are a lot of people out there, too drunk to drive, tearing down back roads at breakneck speed. A safer way to go 4 wheeling is using , and this is also popular. Still, anything that involves driving trucks around off road for recreation, people will find a way to make dangerous, especially if they are young and stupid. Instead of having to worry about their 4 wheelers rolling over on them, we now have the problem of drunken drivers going in their older brother’s, or father’s at high speeds on the back roads. And more than once, this has had tragic results.

No matter how much fun they seem, people who are aware of how dangerous four- are still buying them for their children. It seems like they are just asking for trouble by doing that. There are things like movie theaters and great movies to watch, soda shops for a nice afternoon treat, and even music venues that people of all ages can go to. How about enjoying nature by taking a great hike in the woods? There are acres and acres of beautiful wilderness to explore that don’t need to be spoiled by the grumbling whine of an ATV. On an ATV, the nature flashes by so fast you can’t see anything, you can’t hear any birds singing, and you’ve practically scared away all of the fantastic wildlife out there. There need to be some laws protecting kids and the environment from the dangers of ATVs. While they may be of use to someone out there, they aren’t toys and they’re definitely not for kids.

Why, with all of this tragedy, parents would even think of buying their kids 4 wheelers? It just does not make any sense. It is not like there is absolutely nothing to do in town. There are movie theaters, coffee shops, the soda shop, the main drag. There is even an all ages venue that provides rock music for the kids. And that does not even touch on all of the beautiful wilderness that surrounds us. But instead of enjoying that wilderness for its quiet and mystery, the kids just use it to drive their 4 wheelers, making enough noise to wake the devil himself and completely trampling on nature. That is a shame when you realize how much they miss out on hearing over the rumble of their 250cc 4 wheelers engines. There is a whole world passing them by. Parents should save their money and buy their children something safer — like a bicycle or scooter.
