Before you even set one foot onto a car dealership check and know what shape your credit is in. Even if you know it is in good shape… here’s a flash for you – credit reporting companies make mistakes… and many of them. So, be smart… begin your car buying process the correct way… know your credit score.
You should begin the process of self evaluating your credit well in advance of doing your car shopping.
Why? Because if you find incorrect information or reporting on your credit report it will take some time in order to get it corrected or removed… and if you don’t you may pay for the mis-information quite handily in the form of paying a higher interest rate than you would otherwise have to.
For instance if you were to finance $20,000 for 5 years at 0% interest rate (obviously you’d pay no interest) your monthly payment would be $333.33. If however, because of credit issues (either correctly reported or not) you signed up at 7.9% your payments would be $71.00 dollars per month more for a painful $4,274.28 more in interest payments alone.
And just to pile on a bit more… this means that your loan payoff will always be higher so if you get the urge to trade cars two, three, or four years into your loan… you’re going to be much further upside down!
There are three credit reporting agencies – Equifax – Experian – Trans Union – and it’s best to get a report from all three. Also, if you are married you’ll want to get your spouse’s as well.
First check to determine what your FICO score is. FICO scores can range from about 300-900 with the higher the number being the stronger credit score. Lenders have differing criteria in how they evaluate and grade FICO scores so the break lines between poor – average – good – excellent can vary somewhat but generally the best auto financing rates are granted to those with a score of 700 or better.
Basically your credit score is based on five determinants: payment history – unpaid debt – how long you’ve had established credit – how much credit you’ve acquired or applied for lately – the types of credit you’re carrying.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has a good website for understanding what your rights are under The Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Work to update outdated information that may be a part of your credit report and by all means begin the process of correcting any mis-information or incorrect payment history. Once you have corrected the mistake, be sure to check your credit report again in about 60 days to see how much of your credit report has changed and if your score has improved.
Working to get your credit report in order may take some time and diligence, but it’s like paying yourself. Remember, the difference of a not so many point swing in your credit score can get you that 7.9 interest rate instead of that 0% interest rate.
It’s your money… don’t waste what you can control.

So you are it yet again, cruising down the highway in your stylish Porsche 911 Turbo, with the sun roof open and the wind blowing through your hair. Its Friday today, and you’re all stoked up as the weekend lies ahead. Everything seems just perfect! But, then it happens. There it is again, that menacing sound struggling to drown out your CD player. Just when you shoot a quick glance at your rearview mirror, that perfectly happy face turns into a tight frown. Sure we all know that mean…oh boy! you are been pulled over. How you wish it was not those annoying red and blue lights again. Perhaps you change lanes and hopes he goes the other away, but as it turns out he’s in fact chasing you.
Ah, those wonderful speeding tickets. Sure, you were going 76 in a 65 lane. Or maybe you were simply trying to keep up with the flow of traffic. Hey, whatever you do, “thank you” is the last word you need to say, after he passes you the ticket. Now who doesn’t hate speeding tickets, that’s for sure everyone does! Personally, no matter who you are or how wealthy you are, no one wants those dreadful speeding tickets. Sure, I remember the first time I received one when I was 19 years old. I was cruising home from college in my neat little Mazda Miata, which was one of those fun cars to drive in. Unfortunately cops are always looking out for sports cars. And apparently the colors red and black seem to get the worst.
Though it may have seemed quite inevitable, I was pulled over and handed the lousy speeding ticket. No matter how much I dreaded and hoped, I still got stuck with it. Now what to do? The next thing I did was talk to my older brother about speeding tickets, and then decided to show up in court and plead it out. My court date arrived and I must admit that I was quite nervous.
Luckily the judge turned out to be rather compassionate. I pleaded with her and she said it will not go against my record. At the end, I had to pay up a ticket fee and court costs, but that was the end of it. Showing up at court was a better choice rather than simply sending in a payment. In any case when it comes to speeding tickets, you clearly and simply don’t want them. This can cause your insurance to shoot up! Now, that’s not good for the old bank account.
How many speeding tickets have you received over the years? I hope there aren’t too many. Despite the consequences, you should try and have your ticket resolved as best you can. Of course if you can avoid it going on your record, you’re doing well. Obviously the best way is to not get speeding tickets by sticking with the posted speed limit. On the other hand if you do receive a ticket and you feel as though it was wrongly issued, I suggest pleading it out. No mater what make the officer prove it was you speeding past his radar gun.

The term "refinancing" should be familiar to anyone who has purchased a loan. Simply put, refinancing is the process of obtaining a loan to pay off an existing loan. Obviously it’s not quite as simple as it sounds, but understanding that basic description is enough to begin the process of learning about refinancing.
One of the best-kept secrets in the finance industry is refinancing. A great deal of time, trouble, and most importantly cash can be saved through this method alone. Home refinancing has been around for a long time now and is used by many people to save money on their loans and/or reduce their monthly payments. However, many people still balk at the idea of car loan refinancing despite being familiar with the benefits of refinancing a home loan. Those who have a less than perfect credit rating to back them up, in particular, are likely to react this way.
What exactly is different about car loan refinancing? In essence, nothing. At the basic level, car loan refinancing works the same as refinancing your home. In car loan refinancing, a new car loan is obtained in order to pay off the existing car loan. The new loan may have different (typically better) interest rates, a new lender, or both. Again, as in home refinancing, this is beneficial since car loan refinancing can make your monthly car loan payments lesser. Alternately lower interest rates garnered through car loan refinancing can be capitalized on to pay off the balance of the current car loan in a shorter period of time.
Very few people understand the time value of money–that the longer a loan is paid on, the more money is spent on interest charges. Take for example a 60-month loan for $16,500 on a new Honda Accord and assume that the buyer’s credit is poor. The car dealer manages to get the buyer approved at 21% APR for that loan, making the monthly payments $446.38. By the end of the loan term, the buyer will have paid $10,282.83 on interest charges alone–almost as much as the initial price of the vehicle (which, of course, is now worth far less than when it was purchased). Now, if the car loan were refinanced with another lender at 6% APR after the first few months, the monthly payment would have been $318.99, allowing the buyer to save as much as $7,643 on interest charges. If the buyer refinanced at the lower APR but retained the same monthly payment, the term of the loan would be shorter and the interest savings even higher.
Record numbers of homeowners refinanced their homes and saved thousands of dollars during the years 2001 and 2002. More car owners are beginning to realize the benefits of car loan refinancing every day. With the steady drop in interest rates, car loan refinancing is fast becoming a trend as more and more people realize how much money can be saved simply by refinancing a car loan.

Obviously, the world I almost divided in half for people with disability. In particular, those who are confined to wheelchairs need more than patience to face the truth about having no legs to use.
Fortunately, global "building codes" promulgate and provide accessibility for disabled people so that going to any establishments and commercial centers have special place and set-up suited for them.
Disability provisions are visibly noticed in public comfort rooms, parking areas, special railings at corridors, emergency switches, elevators/lifts, and ramps along sidewalk curbs. It is mandatory to provide mobility for wheelchairs to alleviate the sufferings. Given all the considerations, portable wheelchair lift can make this world caring for the indigents.
Portable wheelchair lifts are mechanical solutions to lift people on platforms like stages where ramps are not available and practical to be built. Even though there is global support to ease the accessibility of wheelchairs anywhere, there are selected but many instances where portable wheelchair lifts are necessary.
A standard minimal width of 32 inches requirement is specified to accommodate installation of special wheelchair lift for stairwells. Portable wheelchair lifts will specially conform to the best ergonomic possibilities for daily activities. Designs are very adaptable to ease household needs without affecting the usual functions of the family members.
Although it seems like the solution for mobility, expect space consumption when you purchase a portable wheelchair lift. You could imagine a massive but movable small elevator hovering your house. It is basically made of steel hollow frames, steel plates, square tubular steel strong enough to withstand a weight of up to 750 pounds. It is an innovation highly engineered to safeguard the need of lifting heavy dead weight.
Its mechanism is sophisticated and complete with fasteners and screws for attachment, springs, rollers and tracks for flexibility. Packages include installation of these parts by technical personnel to avoid errors in trial attempts. But just like any collapsible designs one can purchase everywhere, portable wheelchair lifts can be managed for layman’s assembly with all the technical instructions and manual.
Usually, portable wheelchair lifts must comply with the most important functionality considerations:
* SAFETY - like any design standard procedure, safety is the most important attribute portable wheelchair lifts are built for.
* INNOVATIVE - must have the best design for handy use and give maximum comfort with less effort both on the assistant and the patient.
* FUNCTION - it must serve well the practical purpose of lifting or raising wheelchairs the practical way possible and bridge the gap between incapability and achievement with provision of this device.

RC car painting is typically done using one of two methods: spray cans or an airbrush. Needless to say your skill level will be the ultimate determining factor since most people just aren’t that familiar with the intricacies of airbrushing. Both methods have their particular idiosyncratic advantages and disadvantages, however.
RC car painting via spray cans is the choice of many not only because they either don’t have access to an airbrush or know how to use one, but also because it can be done quickly. A huge amount of space can be covered relatively quickly with a spray can. But RC car painting isn’t the same thing as changing the color of a flag pole.
You want to be proud of that car and make it look as good as it runs. Although personalizing and detailing can usually done much better by airbrush, if you take your time and plan ahead, your spray can RC car painting can wind up looking quite impressive.
Of course, RC car painting with an airbrush is ultimately what you should aim for. The benefits of using an airbrush is that you have access to so many more colors than you can get from using spray cans. And that’s saying a lot, because even if you do choose to use spray cans, you’ll still have over fifty different colors from to pick. But when RC car painting with an airbrush, you can exponentially expand those choices through mixing and blending.
In addition to more flexible use of coloring, airbrushing also affords more control in application. Unlike spray cans, an airbrush can be adjusted, allowing you to spray the paint as thickly or thinly as you like.
The downside to using an airbrush, besides your own level of artistic ability, is cost. For RC car painting with an airbrush you’ll need a compressor. You can try using canned air to begin with, but you’ll quickly find yourself spending more money than you planned on saving because they empty pretty quickly. Better to shell out for an actual compressor, preferably one that produces 25 to 70 psi. By pass the 1/8 HP hobby compressors and go for the ½ HP. Since most RC car painting is now done with next generation water-based paints, also make sure the compressor comes with a moisture trap; if it doesn’t, you’ll quickly find car covered in thick gobs of paint.
RC car painting with an airbrush requires not just air, obviously, but brushes. Ideally, you will want to own more than one brush, but since they can be pricy—the good ones anyway—you may just want to start off with one. The reason for owing two is pretty obvious. RC car painting at its finest creates a work of art that combines both thick lines and fine lines, therefore you want a brush for both thicknesses.
In addition, the paint itself comes in various thickness and some of the finer brushes just handle the thicker paints at the psi the compressor puts out. RC car painting with an airbrush obviously requires more effort, time and expense than RC car painting with spray cans, but the end result usually shows.

Here we have a few things you should check on your motorcycle on a regular basis. I assume you have a handbook with the specs for your bike, if not, go get one. You may be able to find some data for your particular motorcycle on the net. You can also pick up workshop manuals for various models on eBay in PDF or CD form for little money.
Whereas with a four wheeled vehicle you may get away with being lax with things like tire pressures etc, this is not the case with a motorcycle. You should not risk compromising the safety and stability of your motorcycle, for the sake of a bit of routine maintenance.
Pre-ride check
•Tires – check condition and for foreign objects in the tread.
•Tire pressures – it is vitally important to keep your motorcycles tire pressures either on spec or very close to it.
•Oil level – always check with the bike on level ground.
•Coolant level – only if your bike’s liquid cooled, obviously.
•Chain – check the tension and make sure it’s well lubed.
•Brakes – check they work and that they feel good.
•Lights – check all your lights, especially the brake light, you don’t want to get rear ended, do you?
•Visual inspection – self explanatory.
•All ok – hit the road.
Periodical checks
•Check battery – see that the connections are tight; I dropped a bike once because of a loose battery connection, strange but true. Also check the electrolyte level on some batteries, a lot of newer batteries are gel filled, sealed for life types, so no need with these.
•Carb balance – if your bike is multi carbed get yourself a Morgan carbtune or similar. It can be a little tricky the first time you balance them, but when you’ve done it once, the second time will be easy.
•Ignition timing – only necessary on some bikes, most newer models have electronic ignition which does not need touching, normally.
•Valve clearances – unless you’re a good home mechanic, take it to a dealer.
•Wheel bearings – grab each wheel with it off the ground and see if there is any sideways play. There should be none or maybe a trace at most.
•Steering head bearings – with the front end off the ground, grab the forks and push and pull. There should be no play.
•Swinging arm bearings – with the back wheel off the ground, check for any sideways movement in the swingarm, there should be none.
•Brakes – check fluid levels, brake hoses for deterioration, and pads/shoes for thickness.
•Cables and levers – should operate smoothly. Get some grease on lever/pedal pivot points, and get some lube down the cables, if you can. A cable oiler is a handy tool.
•Nut and bolts – go all round the motorcycle with your spanners and check that all nuts/ bolts/screws are nice and tight.
Well, that’s about it for some basic maintenance, obviously, unless you’re a good home mechanic, any bigger jobs will have to go to a dealer. The problem can be finding a good one with skilled mechanics you can trust. I manage to keep my Yamaha Fazer 1000 running sweet just using the steps listed above. It does help that this model only needs the valve clearances checking every 26,000 miles.

So you’ve chosen the car of your dreams, you’ve asked around all over the Internet for the best price, and you’ve made a long list of options and accessories for your new ride, complete with a fuzzy pair of dice.
Before you can drive your new car home however, there are some things to consider with regards to how much you will pay and what you will be getting for your money.
You’re first step is to decide how much you are willing to pay and how flexible you are with this chosen price point. You won’t want to pay several thousand dollars more than the sum you initially decided on obviously, but it is reasonable to expect that the actual price will be slightly off from your initial estimate or even the actual price quoted to you. This could be because of miscellaneous costs or service charges, which may only come to your attention when you receive the final invoice or bill of sale. Of course, you will want to be on the lookout for unscrupulous car merchants who may sneakily tack on some hidden charges but generally these add-on charges are reasonable and are there for a valid and legitimate reason.
The next thing to do is ask your dealer if they offer any incentives or rebates on the sale. The car sales business is a huge industry with plenty of competition so most dealers will probably have a few incentives to help sweeten the deal for any potential buyers. These sales offers could easily end up saving you hundreds of dollars off the purchase price of your new automobile.
A common incentive that car dealers offer is low-interest financing programs that will lighten your monthly car payments. Keep in mind though that as car prices vary from dealer to dealer, from region to region, so do the enticement packages; not all will offer equal value to their potential buyers so don’t expect to get the same freebies everywhere you go. Also you generally will need to have an excellent credit standing before you can qualify for low-interest financing.
Finally determine the rates for your monthly car payments (many online car dealers have rate calculators to help you determine this) and ask your car dealer for the final worksheet detailing all pertinent fees, including taxes and registration fees and don’t forget to apply any offered incentives to the final price.

While on vacation, you and your family are eager to explore and to get to know the people and the culture at your own pace and leisure, but you may find the organized tours too boring and hectic, and the public transport system too confusing and challenging. To get the most out of your vacation the best solution for you may be to rent a car.
The quickest way for you to find a car rental service is to search on the internet or just to leaf through the yellow pages of your local directory or to look at the classified pages of the local newspapers. You should easily be able to find plenty of advertisements for the local rent-a-cars.
If you are unfamiliar with what car rental services are, they are services that engage in the business of renting out cars for short periods of time, most often to visitors or travelers. And the length of this rental period may vary from just a few hours to even a few weeks. Obviously this kind of car rental service does require a fee, but the rental car rates are usually quite reasonable depending on the type of rental car you want to drive, ranging from small compact cars to family-sized minivans or SUVs.
If you need to locate a car rental service, networks and branches of numerous rental car agencies can be found spread out across the entire country and sometimes abroad as well. These car rental agencies are generally located near airports or in central locations of cities. So even if you are unfamiliar with a new city, it is not at all hard to locate a car rental agency.
Not only do rental car services cater to travelers; they also cater to those people whose cars are temporarily out of service, damaged or destroyed, and also to those who may be waiting for an insurance renewal. Other than renting out passenger cars, car rental agencies also rent out heavy duty vehicles such as vans or trucks for industrial transportation purposes.
If you decide to use a car rental service you have to keep the following points in mind:
* You have to return the car exactly in the same condition as it was at the time of renting.
* You have to pay extra charges if you exceed the distance that was stipulated in the contract.
* You must be over a specific age in order to be able to rent a car. In some state this age can be as high as 25.
* Many of the agencies take advantage of GPS technology to ensure that the car is not driven above a certain speed limit or does not go beyond a specified territorial limit.

It is well known that service departments at auto dealers almost always charge more than small garages for most repairs. That’s because in order to run a service department at a dealership, the dealer must pay a fee to the auto maker. Naturally, they pass that cost along to consumers. For basic maintenance and small repairs, going to a local garage will probably save you money. However, for more complex repairs, a dealer’s service department may be your best option. Here’s why.
The mechanics who work in dealership service departments are highly trained in working with specific makes of cars and some may even specialize by specific model. They are typically extensively trained by the manufacturer and frequently attend refresher training courses. If your car is experiencing a problem that’s common to your make of car but not common in others, a service department mechanic trained in working with your specific make and model will have an easier time catching it than a local garage, whose limited training resources must be spent on keeping up to date with many different makes and models.
Also, almost without exception, service departments offer some form of warranty on their work. Obviously, if the car is still covered by the master warranty any repeat repairs will be covered. But most auto dealer service departments warrant their work on cars that are out of warranty. The warranties are usually specific to the repair and may cover parts, labor and rental car expenses. Small garages may also offer warranties, but the advantage of a service department warranty is that it is usually good at any dealer of that make of car.
If the problem you’re experiencing is the subject of a manufacturer’s recall, a service department mechanic will be more likely to know about it. Service departments at car dealers typically run a check each time you bring your vehicle in for service to determine whether a recall has been issued for that make and model. Also, many car manufacturers require that recall repairs be done by a service department.
Finally, if your car needs to be in the shop for an extended period of time a service department that’s located on the same site as an auto dealer can offer you more convenient access to a rental car. Many service departments have their own fleet of rentals. Or, if your car only needs to be in the shop for a day or less, many service departments have a courtesy shuttle.

What are the perks of going to automotive school, and why are people attending automotive school in higher numbers than ever before? The answers are surprisingly random in the fact that people have many different reasons for attending automotive school. The common bond between the students is they all made the leap to take these classes, and get a degree, or certification that will help them in the future.
Obviously most people attend automotive school in order to earn a certification that will help them find work. The major point of any technical school is to offer its student body a way to get certified in any number of jobs, or trades worldwide. Most people that attend are involved in the school for this reason. Gaining a certification will lead to a better chance to get the job that works for you.
Earning an automotive school degree, or certification will provide valuable training for one to use both personally, and professionally. Personally there won’t be a thing wrong with your car that you won’t at least have some idea how to fix. The school of your choice will teach you how to identify most any problem, and further provide instruction on how to fix the problem. This alone can save you thousands of dollars in service, and repair costs at a local shop.
Further, automotive school can prepare you for a career doing what you love to do, repairing cars, and trucks. The great thing about this type of education is that it is created to meet the working persons time constraints. This means that you can take classes in the evenings, or even on the weekend. Some schools are now online, and this adds another way that people can take courses in automotive school.
The technology used is as up to date as possible, and provides state of the art training on how to diagnose, and fix vehicles of all kinds. With the sophistication of automobiles today, it is important to attend an automotive school that is up to date in it’s courses, and material they use for instructing students.
Another important thing to look for when searching for an automotive school is the experience of the instructors. Do the instructors have a lot of experience fixing cars? Or are the instructors new to the trade? The answer to this question will certainly help in any search for a quality automotive school. The instructors should have vast experience fixing cars, and working with students as well. The most effective instructors are those that can both instruct, and relate to students as they take on the tasks that automotive school presents to them. Finally it is important to look for a training program where other students have successfully found jobs after completing their courses. Most automotive schools will offer some type of career assistance, which is imperative for this type of program. The entire point of automotive school is to obtain a career in the industry, and thus career services in an integral part to the mix. Make sure that the program of your choice provides career services, and job placement if at all possible. Once a job is in place, and the money starts to come in, life becomes a lot easier and fulfilling. For those students with families who will need to work during training to support the household, look for a automotive school that will work around your schedule. There should be plenty of programs that will offer this service.
If you have a burning desire to repair automobiles, it’s time to take a look at what automotive school can do for you.
