Picture this: a sunny day. You are at the wheel of your favorite car. The road stretches out enticingly before you. You have time and freedom to drive wherever you want. There is no particular time that you need to be home. The window is open, sending in the cool air as the car pushes forward. Could this be more perfect? Is there anything missing? In a word, yes. And that thing is music!
Driving is a joy, especially when you have all the time in the world, and you are out in the country, with miles to cover. But there’s nothing like listening to music on the go. It adds feeling to the driving like nothing else.
The thing you need, though, to listen to music, is a great music system. This sounds simple, but the one thing that many people do when they purchase their system is make a cardinal mistake. And that mistake is to pay to little for their sound system.
A cheap system can do the job in some ways. After all, music is music, right? But the thing that you get with a cheap system is a cheap sound quality which will forever be fighting with the sounds of the car. Not good. This can become annoying very quicly, since passages of music will be drowned out by the sounds of the car as the frequencies interfere with each other.
However, with a more expensive system, the rules change. It’s mainly to do with the quality of the speakers. A good pair of speakers will not on;ly generally have more power, but will also give a much better range of sounds, or tones. This means that the music will be much more enjoyable, a greater listening pleasure.
And that’s exactly what is needed when the road is clear, the sun is shining and the window is open to the cool fresh air. So when choosing your sound system, don’t immediately go for the cheapest option. Check out some of the more expensive models. You won’t regret it.

At last you have the car of your dreams and you spent large amounts of both time and money on restoring it and you now want to keep it in the same pristine condition. Unfortunately winter is coming and you do not want to drive it in now the weather is turning bad. So you have decided that you want to put your car into storage for the winter months and as cheaply as possible? Yet you also want to be able to get it back onto the road as soon as the weather is good again and find it in the same condition as when it went into storage?
Well hopefully the information contained within this article will help you to make an informed decision on the type of car storage you will use.
Indoor Storage Of course this is the best way for any one to go when looking for storage for their prized car and is the best option especially if you will be away for any extended period of time.
But because you don’t have a garage you are now looking for an alternative. Luckily there are many indoor storage facilities around which will gladly rent storage space that is big enough for a vehicle. If you can try and find a facility where they will run the engine on your car for you every month or two. However, you may find that they will charge you extra for this facility, but it will save you money in the long term as the vehicle will be ready for you to drive after a long lay over period.
When preparing your car for storage it is important that it is clean. Wait until you have a warm dry day and then completely wash and wax the car. Also make sure that you clean the underbody and around the wheel areas as well as any dirt left on the car holds moisture and when combined with air will result in result being allowed to grow.
Also thoroughly clean the car inside. Use either a shop/garage vacuum or a household one in order to get into all the nooks and crannies in your car (it is important to get rid of any dirt or crumbs etc., from the car prior to storage). Leaving such items in the car will only make it a place that small creatures (mice, rats) will be drawn to and make their home inside it.
If you can get the carpets thoroughly cleaned and do this before you do any thing else so that it gives them time to dry out before you put the car into storage.
Next take out the spark plugs and put some oil into the cylinders as this will prevent the cylinder walls, pistons and valves from rusting. You can use regular motor oil but a can of fogging oil from a marine supply store is a good alternative. Now you need to turn the engine by hand half a dozen times to make sure that the oil coats everything. Before you reinstall the spark plugs apply a little anti-seize to them.
Also make sure that the petrol (gas) tank is full as this will reduce the risk of how much water is available to be absorbed by the petrol (gas).
Now we come to the electrical system of your car. Remove the battery cables (negative cable first) and then lift out the battery from the engine. Next you need to wipe the batter down with a battery cleaner (this removes any moisture holding dirt or grease from it). Now you place the battery on a clean dry surface. Attach the battery to a trickle charger which will help preserve the battery’s charge. Also inspect the battery for any rust or corrosion.
You will then need to lubricate the hood latches, hinges and door hinges if you are able to check the brake fluid (flush it out and replace if necessary). Now you will need to check the coolant level (make sure there is enough to protect the cooling system from winter temperatures).
If you want to keep rodents and other small animals from chewing the ignition wires and other wiring in your car (place clean rags into the engine air intake, fresh air intake (under the windshield) and the exhaust. A good idea is to get a big box of mothballs and spread them around and under the car (this seems to keep undesirable elements away from the car).
As for the tyres they will after extended periods of time when not moving they will develop flat spots and the best way to prevent this is to put the car up on jacks.
Now remove the wiper blades as this will prevent them from becoming glued to the windshield.
Now you carried out all the necessary things about there is nothing left for you to do but to put it in to storage and lock up knowing you can enjoy it in the future?

Some people find that they just don’t have a credit problem, but they have no credit. What should you do about this? There really is nothing that you can do about having no credit, except trying to build some credit. You can easily build credit by opening up some credit card accounts before you plan on going for your car loan.
The more cards that you have you will increase your credit rating. You should open up some credit card accounts by simply applying for the cards, using them once or twice, and then going for a loan in about six months or so. You should try to open up the lines of credits way a head of time. It takes some time to find the right car and to define what you are looking for. If you are worried that you have little credit, open up some accounts, but then you have to wait a couple months for it to affect your rating.
Even though your credit rating is important you should know what else the creditors are looking for. The only thing that this card companies care about is if you are going to pay them back in full or if you will stiff them on the bill. The reason why it takes an hour or days for you to get approved for a credit car loan is because there are so many more factors than just your credit report. They care about how much income you have, how long you have lived in the area, and your total asset worth, how you pay your bills, your employee history, your liabilities, and many other things.
Your loan boils down to three things that they really care about. Those three things are character, capacity, and capital. As for your character they need to know that you are employed and are responsible with money. The want to make sure that you pay your bills on time and that you have good relationships with your current creditors for mortgages or maybe other car loans. They need to make sure that you have integrity. This is the most important factor that they look at. They want to make sure that you aren’t a flight risk and that you will responsibly pay all the money back along with interest.
As for you capacity, they need to make sure that you bring in enough money to live and to make this large purchase. They need to look at your credit limits, lines, and debts. They want to know if you can truly afford the loan and to live comfortably. Most people can handle a car payment, a mortgage, and the expenses of a family. This is important, but not something that you should worry about. Most people can handle it.
As for the capital it is also considered to be collateral. It basically judges your wealth. This will help them determine if you can avoid the loan as well.

Import car clubs are popping up all over the place. Although these clubs have had to fight against their reputation as being nothing more than gangs, the battle seems to be almost over. In fact, import car clubs have moved firmly into the mainstream.
Whether you are looking to join one of these import car clubs, or are looking to advertise one that already exists, the internet is your friend. There seems to be literally thousands of different web sites on which you can list and advertise your club. These clubs are, if nothing else, social networks whereby import car enthusiasts can share their passion with millions of people around the world.
Local chapters of import car clubs may differ significantly, but the one thing they all share in common is a love for the import car subculture. That subculture is about more than just modified cars, however, as a visit to one of these web sites can attest. Checking out the web sites devoted to providing exposure to import car clubs will provide you equal parts opportunity to learn more about cars, music, movies, video games and, of course, girls. The import car scene is particularly concerned with showcasing modified and customized vehicles, but entertainment also plays a part. And why not? Car clubs have been featured in both movies and video games, and one of the key modifications made to many import cars involves boosting the sound system, so music is clearly an integral part. As for the girls, well, a web site devoted to the import car subculture that doesn’t feature clickable links to scantily clad import models really isn’t much of an import web site at all.
Unless, that is, you consider the rise of alternative import car clubs. For instance, a visit to http://Holyrollerz.org takes you to the home page of probably the most recognizable of the Christian import car clubs. In addition to being of the few import car clubs web sites that don’t feature images of sexy models, this club explicitly states that it doesn’t tolerate drinking, racing or profanity. If you wish to experience the fun of import car clubs, but are turned-off by some of the more unacceptable practices, this may be the one for you.
But when it comes down it, all import car clubs are about the car. And it is the worshipping of the vehicle that these sites are really about. In keeping with that interest, you can often find, in addition to images of various cars, homemade videos, tutorials, and even artwork. In fact, if you share your passion for cars with a passion for art, joining a club may be the best way for you to share your creations. Many artists have actually sold their paintings and digital artwork featuring modified import cars.
There are a whole host of different reasons for joining import car clubs. If you don’t know how to get in touch with one your hometown, one of these listing sites can probably help.

Defensive driving courses generally help an individual to hone up his driving skills even if he has had his license before and is an experienced driver. The basic concept behind such a course is to make an individual trained so that he could react to the mistakes made by other drivers on the road and avoid an accident.
Defensive driving courses in a way assume that even if you drive carefully there are always those rash drivers who will either jump the red light or would take a sudden u-turn without making any signal, and you need to be ready when they do.
Most people enroll themselves for a defensive driving courses because having completed such a course not only makes his drive home safer, but it also entitles him to certain privileges. He gets a discount on his insurance premium, his points on his driving record get reduced, and to cap it all, some states even dismiss tickets issued against a person who has completed his defensive driving course.
Defensive driving courses can be attended either in a driving school or one can enroll for such a course online. Whatever mode he chooses, he should first clarify what courses satisfy his state’s requirements.
There are a lot of rules that a driver is taught to follow in a defensive driving course. The first and foremost thing that one needs to remember is to pay attention. The commonest explanation after an accident is that they had not seen the other man approaching. The only way out is to be alert, always. Another important rule to follow is not to trust any driver on the road.
It is always better to maintain a safe distance from a car in front. One should also remember that even if he follows the traffic lights someone else might not. It is also advised that under no circumstances should one not wear his seat belt. Many an accident injury could be averted if the people inside the car strapped themselves up properly.
A defensive driving course also emphasizes that a person should drive only if he is sober. Even if he is feeling sleepy it is advised that he should stay away from the wheel. It is also instructed that speed limits be followed strictly. A driver is advised to avoid all sorts of distractions while driving such as listening to the radio or talking on the phone.
One should also slow down in case of rain or snow. It is recommended that an eye should also be kept on the pedestrians and their pets so that nothing untoward happens if they stray on to the driveway. In fact one is also given tips regarding riding a bike, for example it is suggested that one wear a protective head gear while riding.
The list of such laws goes on. One needs to go through them thoroughly and put them to practice on the road. One becomes a much safer and secure driver and at the same time also gets to enjoy a few privileges for being so – this is the best part of such defensive driving courses.

You’ve finally gotten your hands on the classic car of your dreams, but wait a minute, now you have to figure out how to get your hands on the car parts you need in order to keep it running. If you’ve worked hard at acquiring the car, then it is probably a safe assumption that finding the parts you need is high on your list of priorities.
However, you can’t just walk into a dealership and place your order for the parts you need because there is a 99% chance they are no longer manufactured by the automaker. Regardless, no matter what your taste in classic cars, whether it is for muscle cars, antiques or vintage models, if you know where to begin looking then with a little digging you can find what you need.
Here are some places where you should begin your search:
Ebay is a great place to start your search for the classic car parts you need. Just about everything you could ever want can be found on Ebay, or more precisely in the case of cars, Ebay Motors. If you find the parts you need this way you’ll have to pay shipping charges, but this is just a necessary evil you will have to contend with if you want the parts; however, if you are trying to keep your costs down you can try searching the local swap meets.
Swap Meets
Swap Meets can be hit and miss, and are probably not your best bet for finding the parts you need, but it never hurts to look. You may get lucky and find just what you are in need of, and even better, probably get it for a very low price.
Classic Car Part Dealer Publications
You will often find it very easy to find the parts you need in these types of magazines; however, the downside is that it will probably cost you an arm and a leg to get the parts. This is an option you should use only as a last resort, especially if you are trying to avoid breaking the bank. Explore all of your other possibilities first and if nothing pans out, and you really need the part, or parts, than do it, but don’t just make the purchase because it is easier than being patient and looking thoroughly. You may regret your decision a week later when you stumble across the parts for a lot less money somewhere else.
Clubs and Organizations
Where there is a hobby there is usually a club or organization to go along with it, and this couldn’t be truer of classic car restoration. By locating and joining one of these clubs you can improve your chances of finding the parts you need. This also allows you the chance to network and get to know others who share your same interests, and may even own the same car you do. If this happens to be the case, they may be able to point you in the right direction on where to get the parts you are looking for. Finding these clubs is as easy as logging onto the Internet and doing a search, so there is no excuse for you not to try.
Junkyards
Okay, so having to dig through the junkyard is a not so glamorous idea, and one that you probably didn’t consider when you bought your dream car; unfortunately, you may have no choice. But look on the bright side, it may payoff big time, and if you’re lucky, your local junkyard will be entirely computerized so that all you will need to do is make a phone call to inquire about what you are looking for. You may get lucky enough not to have to go to the junkyard after all.
Whatever the case may be, you probably put a lot of time and effort into getting your car, so what’s a little more effort in order to get it running. The moment you hear that engine ignite and begin purring will make all the hard work worth it.

There’s nothing worse than deciding to try a new brand of product and finding that they just aren’t as good as your usual one. It’s worth the try sometimes to quantify just how good a product really is, because after using or having the same thing for a long period of time you can lose the appreciation of the item.
Just like fashion, it’s also amusing to see trends come and go. And then there are the times where the hardcore fan will tell you that they knew the product was cool all that time. I have a brother that is one of those very loyal nothing else will do fans. Particularly when it comes to Jeeps.
It’s not until you see someone who is really into them that you notice just how much paraphernalia can be associated with one vehicle. Strangely enough, it’s not just what the individual collects; it’s all the things that get given to him because people know how much he loves them. Unfortunately for him, his wife just doesn’t see the same appeal in all the things he has collected over the years. You see while jeep stuff might be appealing for a guy it doesn’t really give a house that homely feeling. There is only so many ways of decorating with posters, stickers, cups, key chains and t-shirts.
Several years of accumulating jeep stuff has resulted in many boxes being stored in the garage and not so much being displayed. There would be no question as to the final resting place of all this stuff once the garage got packed.
Funny then how a change of outlook can make the worthless suddenly seem valuable. You see my brothers’ wife was bidding on some items online when she happened to come across some items that looked remarkably like the ones stored in her garage. On closer inspection she found that the items were indeed the same and to her utter surprise the bidding was strong and the items turned out to be quite valuable.
Needless to say that when she had finished looking on the internet she went straight to the garage and started sorting out the items in the boxes. With a new appreciation of the value of the object she had decided that perhaps she had overreacted in her need to have the items packed away.
When I go to my brothers’ house now there are displays where the older jeep objects are kept. Although they have not been given prime positioning in major living and entertaining rooms they take pride of place in the office.
While I wouldn’t claim that there has been a conversion to the jeep faithful, it is not uncommon now to see my sister-in-law actually making use of the jeep mugs for her tea. Whether she does it because she really values the pieces or whether it’s out of respect for my brother no one really cares.

Although 4 wheeler atvs are some of the most dangerous vehicles known to man, people are more than ever buying 4 wheelers for kids. Not only do these four wheelers tear up the natural habitat, but they make tremendous noise, disturbing the native wildlife while causing their terrible erosion. Back in the days, young people eroded the soil and basically wrecked things for everyone else trying to enjoy the wilderness. But worst of all, is the danger of the 4 wheelers.
Going four-wheeling in one of those big trucks is a lot safer and it’s both fun and popular to do. Nevertheless, whenever you take something off road and go through the brush and the hills, you’re going to end up with someone getting hurt. Many people go four-wheeling during or after a drinking binge. That means there are a lot of people out there, too drunk to drive, tearing down back roads at breakneck speed. A safer way to go 4 wheeling is using 4×4 trucks, and this is also popular. Still, anything that involves driving trucks around off road for recreation, people will find a way to make dangerous, especially if they are young and stupid. Instead of having to worry about their 4 wheelers rolling over on them, we now have the problem of drunken drivers going in their older brother’s, or father’s pickup trucks at high speeds on the back roads. And more than once, this has had tragic results.
No matter how much fun they seem, people who are aware of how dangerous four-wheel ATVs are still buying them for their children. It seems like they are just asking for trouble by doing that. There are things like movie theaters and great movies to watch, soda shops for a nice afternoon treat, and even music venues that people of all ages can go to. How about enjoying nature by taking a great hike in the woods? There are acres and acres of beautiful wilderness to explore that don’t need to be spoiled by the grumbling whine of an ATV. On an ATV, the nature flashes by so fast you can’t see anything, you can’t hear any birds singing, and you’ve practically scared away all of the fantastic wildlife out there. There need to be some laws protecting kids and the environment from the dangers of ATVs. While they may be of use to someone out there, they aren’t toys and they’re definitely not for kids.
Why, with all of this tragedy, parents would even think of buying their kids 4 wheelers? It just does not make any sense. It is not like there is absolutely nothing to do in town. There are movie theaters, coffee shops, the soda shop, the main drag. There is even an all ages venue that provides rock music for the kids. And that does not even touch on all of the beautiful wilderness that surrounds us. But instead of enjoying that wilderness for its quiet and mystery, the kids just use it to drive their 4 wheelers, making enough noise to wake the devil himself and completely trampling on nature. That is a shame when you realize how much they miss out on hearing over the rumble of their 250cc 4 wheelers engines. There is a whole world passing them by. Parents should save their money and buy their children something safer — like a bicycle or scooter.
