Dirt bikes: What are they?

Dirt biking is not for those weak at heart. It pumps up your adrenaline to amazingly high levels and gives out the thrill which we so desperately seek. Unlike regular biking which offers thrills based on speed alone and which is done on regular roads, dirt biking thrills are second to none. Dirt biking combines thrills of speed with those of completely daring stunts performed on an obstacle-rich course on low-traction surfaces like dirt, sand and gravel. It is because of these reasons that dirt bikes are made as light-weight as possible. They also have distinct tyres which assist them in improving traction.

Husqvarna’s dirt bikes history

Husqvarna dirt bikes (also called Huskys) have been some of the earliest in the world. Starting from 1920 when Husqvarna produced its first 550cc four-stroke v-twin engine dirt bike, Husqvarna has never compromised on excellence in its dirt bikes segment. This four-stroke allowed the range of 2 cylinder engines of larger capacity to be built and further developed, and Husqvarna has since then, never looked back.

Husqvarna dominated the world dirt biking scene in the 70’s and the 80’s. Despite this their company was still encountering losses, and finally in 1986, Husqvarna’s dirt bikes segment was sold off to a company called the Cagiva Group, based in Italy, who subsequently turned them back around to a profitable enterprise. Henceforth, Husqvarna dirt bikes new “hospital” became located in Varese, Italy, instead of Husqvarna’s native place, Huskvarna in Sweden.

Husqvarna dirt bikes: The legacy continues!

After more than 80 years of hard work and having the envyable boating position of holding 74 world titles in Motocross, Enduro and Supermotard, Husqvarna dirt bikes’ was again sold off, this time to the BMW group in the October of 2007. One can definitely say that the history of Husqvarna is extremely colourful.

Husqvarna dirt bikes to grab your attention:

The TE 510 by Husqvarna is the most powerful of all Husqvarna dirt bikes available. It packs a mighty punch with its 510cc 4-Stroke engine, and with the latest revamps it just received this year, it promises to be a great enduro bike. The bad guys at Husqvarna also revamped the TC 450, which was already the winner of many previous titles. The newly updated 450cc, got hot new changes, the most noticeable being its dashing looks.

Coming to its 2-Stroke garage, Husqvarna recently brought out the WR300, and boy am I amazed!! The WR300 is powerful, light and extremely quick making it one of the best enduro bikes available making it immensely popular among the youth.

The 4-stroke 250cc, Husqvarna’s TC250 was earlier only available to its racing teams and some prized Husqvarna customers. However, recently it has become open for the general public to buy, making it easy for you to own this bundle of awesomeness. This year’s revamps made it even more evenly powered making it an even better buy.

Lastly, the CR125 was added to the line-up of Husqvarna dirt bikes to accommodate the young and aspiring bikers. Being extremely light, this two-stroke is very easy to manoeuvre. This year’s changes just made it even better with increased manoeuvrability and even more low-down power.
All in all, the future of Husqvarna dirt bikes looks promising.
